　　I. Introduction

　　The HDMI extenderover 2 UTP cables with IR control is the right way to send your HDMI signal overlong distances. Instead of using expensive HDMI cables, this device lets youuse your existing Cat5e/ 6 cables/sockets while also performing the samefunctions like transferring Deep Color (12 bits/color) video and new losslesscompressed (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio) digital audio,all with a bandwidth up to 225MHz. And if that weren’t enough, you can use yourexisting remote to control your device through an IR blaster.

　　V. Connect and Operate

　　Connect the signalsource such as Blu-Ray Player, Play Station 3, audio/video receiver, cable orsatellite receivers and computers equipped with HDMI output interfaces with a shorthigh-speed HDMI cable to the HDMI Transmitter input. HDMI cable length shouldnot exceed 16 ft.

　　Connect the HDMITransmitter output RJ-45 ports using dual-runs of Cat 5e or Cat 6 UTP cables toincluded Receiver, which does not require a power supply. It is stronglyrecommended that factory terminated cable assemblies be used and their lengthshall not exceed 100 ft of Cat 5e and 110 ft of Cat 6 for the 30 m extendersand 164 ft and 180 ft respectively for the 50 m extenders.

　　Connect the HDMIoutput from the Receiver to high-definition display devices such as HD-LCD,HD-DLP and HD projectors with HDMI input interfaces. Use high-speed HDMI cablesthat are recommended for the distances that are required for each connection.HDMI cable length should not exceed 16 ft.

　　The Receivers arepowered by an external power supply which is included. Connect power first tothe source, then to the Receiver and then to each HD TV or projector.

　　The source can becontrolled from the display. This is accomplished by using an optional IRReceiver pigtail pointing away from the display, which can be connected to thereceiver portion of the extender. The IR Transmitter pigtail is then connectedto the Transmitter of the extender and pointed at the source.
